In this guide we will show you how to cancel your current AVG subscription and explain some of the aspects you have to beware of.

If you have purchased your current AVG product via AVG.com (or other official webstore), then it is likely your subscription has an "automatic renewal" status i.e. your subscription will be automatically renewed each year and you will be billed the full price of the AVG product. AVG will bill you 15 days prior to the start of the next subscription period. Usually AVG will send you a notification email informing you about the upcoming automatic extension 45 days prior to the start of this subscription period. Canceling your subscription will not refund your current AVG subscription, and you will be able to continue using AVG until your current subscription period expires.

 

There are two ways to cancel your current AVG subscription.

 

A. You can click on the cancellation link in the email you received in your original purchase confirmation email.

 

B. To access your AVG MyAccount and cancel your subscription from here.

 

 

Cancel subscription via the notification email

 

1. Open your original purchase confirmation email.

 

2. Click the link in the email that describes how to cancel your subscription.

 

3. In some regions you will be directed to a website when you click on the link, click Yes on this confirmation page. You will receive an email with the subject “AVG Subscription cancellation request”. Click the confirmation link in the email to complete the cancellation of your subscription.

 

4. In other regions, this link will open a website page with an Unsubscribe link. Click on Unsubscribe on the confirmation page and your cancellation will be complete.

 

 

Cancel your subscription via AVG MyAccount

 

In order to cancel your subscription from the AVG MyAccount, please follow these steps:

 

1. Please click this link to the AVG MyAccount login page. Insert your email address and password.

 

2. After you have logged in access “My Subscriptions”.

 

3. Click on the link “Cancel Subscription”.

 

4. Confirm that you wish to cancel your subscription.

 

6. The extension for the next period will now be cancelled and you will not be billed further.

 

 

Can I request a refund for an automatically extended subscription?

 

Yes, you can request a refund, if your subscription was automatically extended, but you do not wish to continue using the product.
